They have come a long way over the years, that Landy is nice. Santa brought my youngest one of these last Christmas, apologies it's lacking retroness - I was very suprised how advanced it is. Switchable 4x4 (a motor on every wheel with a switch on the dash for 2 / 4wd) Remote control. Suspension all round and decent rubber tyres. "leather" seats, to be honest it's a Ford licensed thing and they feel the same as my Mustang seats. Working lights all round and a touch screen sound system and that plays Mickey Mouse cartoons! It's amazing when you think back, that I thought the screen in my old M5 was the dogs twitcher when I got it and now they are in toys. It doesn't seem like any time at all.
ETA. I notice the panel gaps on the plastic Landy are better that the real ones.

Those Land Rover ones look excellent but they're renders wonder what the actual thing looks like.
Bet they cost almost as much as a real one.

The wife wants our new son (yesterday) to have a Focus Rs which I quite like, bit really want something that either looks old, or is old. I had loads as a kid as my dad used to get them from car boots, do them up, I'd use them then sell them on again. I'm in the market for something like a Peg Perego Gaucho Jeep, but they hold their money very well.

I presume we are at opposite ends of the country though.

Title should be more like ride-INs. Thinking of ride-ONs things like the classic german Bobby car spring to my mind, which lead to evolutions like BMW Z3, Audi TT and such, but also the good old Trabant or trucks and tractors. If you´re interested to see those cheaper toys try googling rutscherauto, plenty of pics out there.

The Toylander kits look very good. I always promised myself I’d build one for my boys but I don’t think they’d thank me for it when they’re 21.

Lots of love for the Toylander, for anyone who doesn't know what it is: I reckon I'd have been happy to drive that at age 21, (apart from the being 6ft thing).

I’ve just bought this last week. Toys toys Ferrari F40 made in the early 1990’s. I’ve added some new batteries and it works fine. Just need my son to grow a bit more now. Those defenders look good for off the shelf cars Much bigger than I expected it to be when next to a double bed.

I took a load of junk down the tip the other day, and happened to spot a dumped BMW X5 kid's electric car (I didn't know it was electric initially), so dragged it out and put it in the boot, although I got a stern warning from one of the workers there not to do it again; I gave him the excuse I was trying to help them clear the junk. Dug out a 6V charger from another kid's electric car from donkey's years ago (probably early 1980s) and put it on a charge for a few hours, and other than a broken headlamp wire, it was good to go! It even has working horn and engine noises. Today, I gave it to my brother's youngest son, who will no doubt will get a good few hours of fun out of it... It's similar to this one:

I would have slightly maimed someone for one of those as a kid!!

Yep, that Colin Rule does rule! This guy's not doing so bad either, Stuart Gurr is a classic car restorer / tuner who in his spare time builds half scale cars for his daughters: Spare time! How much spare time does this guy have!

Phew, I was wondering the same thing! It must take hours to fabricate those, in addition to his 'normal' work...
